Out of a Crowd of Millions
Out of a crowd of millions, I will emerge to be.
I am destined to be the star of every galaxy.
And when I arrive all eyes are on me.
More distinguished than any other, I am a rarity.
I am the first encounter of every kind,
So ethereal, dominating, and refined.
Suave, sexy, strong, and unmistakably envied
By all those who desire to belong to me.
But my complexity is too intense to see.
Yet, even I am amazed b my own ability.
I am BAD from HEAD to TOE!
I am a woman of Sigma Gamma Rho. ~ Author Unknown
Blue and Gold
The Fellowship of the blue and gold
Is a fellowship complete,
For here we find the kindred mind
Of love serene and sweet.
The sisterhood for which we seek
Is given without measure.
Devotion to Humanity
Is Sigma's dearest treasure.
This Blue and Gold Sorority
Is a group whose social clime
Show smiles across their faces.
Come now to me, Young ready heart;
Let Sigma Gamma Rho unfold
To you the sweetest sisterhood,
Where meets the blue and gold.
-Soror Hattie Minor
I AM DIVINE
Gently graceful, yet elusively powerful.
The blood of queens flows through my veins.
My ancestors ruled under royal blue skies and donned crowns of pure gold.
I am the living dream of my ancestors.
In the company of my sisters, I serve others selflessly.
The spirit of my founders guides me, their light shines within me ever so brightly.
I am the living dream of my founders.
Curious are the eyes who stare as I go, and it's no wonder,
I am a woman of Sigma Gamma Rho.

God Created A Special Woman...
Her body He shaped from the most selective sands
With warmth in her heart and strength in her hands.
Into her, carefully, a special air He breathed.
A special understanding for all the world to see.
Into her veins, He pumped kindness and truth
Carefully nurtured and each day renewed.
A monument of pride, strength, and love.
Blessed with virtues from God above.
Her presence is a light showing the path to go.
God created a special woman -- The woman of Sigma Gamma Rho

An Ideal Sigma
A young lady who has a lot to offer,
No vulgarity or boastfulness is a part of her.
And who is willing to lend a hand
For Sigma, she'll always stand.
Sympathy is a part of her for the poor.
Never a stray she turns from her door.
To her, the love of God is a must
And in all she places her trust.
Sigma's Hymn she will sing with all her might
So that from its radiance others will see the light.
The pin, she will wear with a great deal of respect
But she's a Sigma-what can we expect?

A REAL MEMBER
ARE YOU AN ACTIVE MEMBER, THE KIND THAT WOULD BE MISSED?
OR ARE YOU JUST CONTENT TO SEE YOUR NAME ON THE LIST?
DO YOU ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MINGLE WITH THE FLOCK?
OR DO YOU ALWAYS STAY AT HOME AND CRITICIZE AND KNOCK?
DO YOU TAKE AN ACTIVE PART TO HELP YOUR GROUP ALONG?
OR ARE YOU SIMPLY SATISFIED THAT YOU BELONG?
DO YOU VOLUNTEER TO HELP GUIDE THE STICK OR LEAVE THE
WORK TO JUST A FEW, THEN TALK ABOUT THE CLIQUE?
COME OUT TO ALL THE MEETINGS AND HELP WITH HAND AND HEART?
DON'T BE JUST A MEMBER, BUT TAKE AN ACTIVE PART?
PARTICIPATE IN ALL THE EVENTS AND STAY UNTIL THE END?
DON'T LEAVE THE WORK TO JUST A FEW, BE FAITHFUL AND CHIP IN. JUST THINK
THIS OVER MEMBER, YOU KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG. ARE YOU AN ACTIVE MEMBER,
OR DO YOU JUST BELONG?
What would the founders think?
What would our founders of all Greek Organizations think if they saw us today? Would they be proud or would they shake their head in dismay? Would they see the principles they believed in our daily walk Or would they be disappointed in the trash we talk?
Would they look from above with a smile on their face Or would they be looking down in shame and disgrace? Would they see that sisterhood & brotherhood was still within us Or would they see backstabbing, fighting, and all kinds of fuss?
Would they see us willingly accepting all correction Or would they see us always mounting an objection? Would they see us loving our Greek lettered sisters and brothers, Saying no matter what color they wear we must stand for each other! Would they see that service was still number one Or would they see it was replaced by the need to have fun? Would they see you stepping with pride on Friday night And then up early on Saturday to help the homeless plight Or would Saturday morning meet you snuggled in bed, While the need is ignored and our community unfed? Would they see that scholarship was still our priority Or are we more concerned with pledging the cool sorority or fraternity? Would they look at you pledge and be filled with memories Or would they gasp in horror as you twist their history? Would they see us graduating at the top of our class Or are we barely scraping by with just enough to pass?
So I ask you, my generation, what will our legacy be? Will we be the ones to bring our organization to its knees? Will we sit idly by and watch our legacy ripped from our hearts Or will we stand up and say that its time we do our parts? Will I see you on the front row at our next business meeting? Are you financial, active, and ready to have delegate seating? Imagine
what could happen if collegiates took their rightful place. Would the founders then look down on us with a smile on their face?
Imagine if we remember our founding principles and the oath we said And keep it ever close to us in our hearts and in our heads! I think that then the founders would look down, their hearts about to bust As they said to each other,"Hey, don't they remind you of Us?" So the next time you put on your letters, before you move or blink, With every action, look up, and wonder...
"What would the FOUNDERS think?"
